On 1st July we played our annual Seale & Sands McKenzie Cup and Shield competition. We have been playing this competition since 1952, and this year Seale and Sands we celebrating the 90th Anniversary. On the day the Tongham Ladies won 40 - 34 and retained the McKenzie Shield, but unfortunately the Men lost 51 - 63, so the McKenzie Cup stayed at Seale and Sands for another year. These matches every year are always supported by members of Tongham and Seale and Sands watching and cheering us on with good spirit. This photograph was taken on the day, with all the bowlers that took part in the game, and was in the Farnham Herald, and I have put it on the notice board in the club house for you all to see. Hi Members I thought I would give you an up-date on the Farnham & District competitions that Tongham are still in: Jacqueline Castle and Janet Maginnis are in the Finals of the Ladies Pairs. Chris Cooper and John Castle are in the Finals of the Mens Pairs Alex Brady is in the Final of the Mens Singles All these finals will be played on Sunday 2nd September at Farnborough Bowling Club. Nearer the time I will be able to give you times of the each game, and hope you can come and support our members. We are in the Semi Final of the Ken Britton Cup, which we are playing Farnborough B.C. at Farnborough on Wednesday 22nd August 6pm start. Also we are in the Semi Final of the Boyd Shield, which we are playing Mytchett B.C. on the 23rd August 6pm . The Boyd Shield is split into two teams at home, Singles and Fours are at Tongham and Pairs and Triples are at Mytchett. So please come and support our teams if you can. Kind Regards Jacqueline
